Stacking Discounts

Saving money by stacking online discounts

Here’s how I maximize my savings using the following tools; TopCashBack, Rakuten, and Honey.

Recently I purchased parts for my car from Advance Auto Parts. The subtotal before discounts came to $155.96. I found that Rakuten.com and TapCashBack.com both had maximum discounts of 20% off before cashback. I used the Honey browser extension and it found an active 25% discount code. Rakuten.com was offering 5% cashback and TopCashBack was offering 8% cashback. Which site do you think I used? Yes, I went with 8% cashback. On top of all that I got an additional $5 off by using Advance Auto’s, “speed Perks” discount program. Below is the breakdown of my purchase. After all the discounts we’re applied I saved $42.74 on the purchase. Plus I’ll be getting an additional $9.05 in cashback (read my savings article to see what I do with the cashback I receive). Which brings my total savings to $51.79. The grand total paid for the parts comes to $104.17.
